CHECK FOR MECHANICAL SAFETY
Check your cycle's condition on a regular basis. Verify that no cables, fasteners, or other parts are loose or damaged in any way. Additionally, prior to each ride, visually inspect the entire cycle. Make sure the frame is not bent or fractured and check for cracks. Additionally, examine the cycle's parts, particularly:
WHEELS
- Make that both tires are in good shape and free of cracks, deformations, and punctures by inspecting the tread. Make sure the spokes are tight and undamaged as well.
- As stated on the tire sidewall, keep the recommended tire pressure. For the sake of battery life, riding enjoyment, and safety, tire pressure is essential.
- Verify the wheels' trueness and correct dishing.
BATTERY
- Make that the batteries are secure and locked when the cycle is running, that they are kept fully charged, and that they are in good working order.
- Make sure the battery is properly placed by pushing it in until the lock engages and it clicks. To verify that it has actually locked into place, take the key out of the lock and pull the battery.
- Verify the battery's charge level. Learn the best methods for storing and charging batteries.
